Internet Marketing 101

November 28th, 2009

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers – as we do – and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.

However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.

Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.

Even though there are more sides to internet marketing than just email marketing (permission based), email has been the foundation that our business sits on.

Techniques On How To Generate More Website Traffic

November 28th, 2009

You may have a online business that sells other people’s products or your own products. But whether you are selling your own or others, we need to drive tons of traffic to our website. But what is most important is not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic.

In the early days of my internet marketing career, I experimented on different methods for driving traffic. Many of the programs and services that I have purchased did not have a lot of effect on my website traffic.

Listed below are the three traffic generation techniques that I found most effective:

* Text Link Advertisements

Text links can either be paid or free. The paid methods are paying for your link to be shown in Ezines, newsletters or on other peoples’ sites. Make sure you need the traffic from that source before buying advertising space to make the most out of your money. For ezines, make sure they have a good number of subscribers before you advertise.

Creating articles is one way of placing links for free . This requires hard work on your part, but the return will be seen in the long term. Keep in mind, your articles should be relevant and address the subject matter of your site and products.

* Pay-Per-Click

If you have the money to invest in your advertising, advertise through pay per click. If you use pay per click, you create a compeling advertisement for your target visitors and bid on the keywords that you want. This takes time, energy, persistence and money  and research unless you know the google secret loophole by now. Make sure you understand the rules of the search engine where you want to do PPC before you start your campaigns.

* SEO

This involves targeting a particular keyword and optimizing your website for that particular keyword. You may have to outsource the optimization of your website as this may be time consuming.

These are traffic generation tactics that are the most effective.

How To Get To The First Page of Search Engines

November 28th, 2009

If you are not in the top ten of Google, it would be like your website is inexistent. Very few people visit the sites on the second page of Google. Being in the first ten is important as discussed in ppc bully.  If your site is not on the first few pages, it is unlikely that your web site will ever be seen – except by you and your friends!

Google takes into consideration many factors before listing your website in the top ten. But no one knows exactly how much weight Google attaches to each factor. Because of this, no one can guarantee you the number 1 spot in Google or any other search engine.

You can get into the first page of Google if you follow basic search engine optimization principles and are prepared to work hard. Getting listed on the first page of Google depends on a number of factors:

* The target keyword
* How much competition there is for your chosen keyword
* The size of your website
* How well you use keywords on your site
* Number and relevancy of links linking back your website

To be on the first page of Google, first make sure that your website outshines the competition.   Add relevant information and useful offers to make your visitors come back for more. Be on top of things when in comes to your niche market.

Identify the best keywords for your website. Sprinkle some of the keywords in your website.  Do not over do this.  Mix up your keyword phrases, and make sure your text doesn’t sound stilted or un-natural.

Link back to your website as much as you can. Each links counts as a vote in your favour and is a key factor in search engine optimisation.

Despite the fact that you may have to spend some money on SEO, there are some things you can do if you are on a tight budget. Remember that search engine optimization results take time especially if the keyword that you have identified have a lot of competition.

The Concept Of Affiliate Marketing

November 27th, 2009

The internet has made quite a big stir in the marketing business. Affiliate marketing is one of the fastest growing online businesses in today’s world with almost every country involved in it. Affiliate marketing is a simple process that could be initiated by anyone who fulfills the basic requirements. There are basically three parties involved; the merchant or the seller, the affiliate, and the customer. The affiliate is involved in promoting the merchants products using a website hosted by the affiliate. When a customer clicks on a link that’s on the website, he or she will be directed to the merchant. For this, the affiliate will be compensated. Check out Howies Apprentice 5.

Affiliate marketing requires a person to promote and sell other people’s products. For this, they get a commission. You are actually a third party and a person who does pre-selling for the product on sale. If you are an affiliate, thanks to you, many people become aware of the product and are easily directed by you to the seller. Since the product is not with you and you do not own it, you won’t need to worry about the inventory or about customer service, etc. Take a look at Apprentice 5 Clickbank Edition.

Since the product is not yours but the merchants, you need not have to worry about keeping an inventory. It’s all hassle free as long as you market the product well. Advertising methods such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), e-mail marketing, display advertising, etc is frequently used by affiliates to increase their profits.

If affiliate marketing is such a thriving business, you may wonder if there are no shortcomings of it at all. Like every other business, affiliate marketing too has a few drawbacks. Some affiliates tend to disregard the fact that they are involved in a real business. Being professional requires commitment and an effort to making the business one of the best. Affiliate marketing is all about online marketing. The fate of sales depends on the type of website you have. Therefore, hosting a website that is credible, attractive and user-friendly could be the stepping stone for more business opportunities.

It is necessary that you promote products that have a high demand. Trying to promote a product that’s quite stale and is in its maturity stage will not give you the desired results.

Today, earning money does not require you to go to a workplace and work tirelessly from nine to five each day. Thanks to the emergence of affiliate marketing, you can now earn millions over the internet. All you need is the right resources and commitment to strive. Read about the Affiliate Assassin System.
